Oh, come on lahh...!!

No, seriously the joke's not on me this time. As you all know I surf the net pretty frequently everyday and I do pay loads of visits to IMDB just to check out the latest openings and reviews on movies. Most of the time I refer to it as a guideline for me of downloading my movies, and then go back there to rate the movie out of 10 stars.

IMDB (Internet Movie DataBase) has its own "Top 250 List" which lists out the top 250 movies ever made in the world, of course voted on by ordinary people. Recently, after the opening of "The Dark Knight" many people have rated it 9.3/10 stars. Now, seriously. I thought it was worthy of only 8 stars. Yes I know Heath Ledger's performance was brilliant but no it doesn't deserve to be up there. Like I mentioned earlier, this movie had a little less of batman's fighting sequences and shots of his cool gadgets.

"The Joker" as portrayed by Ledger may probably go down as the greatest villain ever existed, but I still think "The Penguin" played by Danny DeVito in the 1992 "Batman Returns" scares the shit out of me. Anyways, back to the ratings. Totally disagree with it. Why?? Before "The Dark Knight" was released, the IMDB "Top 250 List" looked liked this :

1. The Godfather (1972) - 9.1/10
2. The Shawshank Redemption (1994) - 9.1/10
3. The Godfather II (1974) - 9.0/10

And after the release of "The Dark Knight",

1. The Dark Knight (2008) - 9.3/10
2. The Shawshank Redemption (1994) - 9.1/10
3. The Godfather (1972) - 9.1/10

Damnit. Nonono. Absolutely not. How can "The Dark Knight" beat movies like "The Godfather" and "The Shawshank Redemption". I mean no one beats Al Pacino or even Morgan Freeman. But, I however think the bestest bestest super duper nicest film ever made was "Lord of the Rings : The Return of the King".

This movie had been rated 8.8/10 on the IMDB list and given the umber 13 spot. But I think the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy would go down in history books as the best trilogy ever made. Yes, it even would beat the "Pirates of the Carribean" trilogy. This movie had a huge starcast put together and the performances put in by them was just admirably superb.

Aiya, what to do now. Not many people have the same taste in movies as me. But, mind you, I've got extremely good taste in movies and women. Hollywood and Bollywood. Oh wells, "The Dark Knight" did well and I must congratulate the cast and crew for achieving it. Wouldn't have got it without Heath Ledger. He was something alright.

"The Return of the King" still remains as my number one. And yeah, anyone up for movies?? Give me a call and we'll set up a 'date' aite? XD

Cheers.

Quid Pro Quo

Once again, the title of this post has nothing to do with the content of the following paragraphs I'm about to write. Just shows you how many random things have been going through my head these past few days, because of lazing around at home.

By staying put at home, watching movies and basically loitering around every corner of my house has led me to think and cherish those times I had with my law mates everyday at university. One and a half months left for me here in my "beloved" country till I take off for UK, and yes I would definitely miss my times at the university, and AC (Asia Cafe).

Some of us like paying attention, while others...

Yupp, that's Lt4 alright. The original lecture room in which was designated to the law students. However, we had been shifted to rooms 1.1 and 1.2 because of some students complaining of inconvenience. Will definitely miss the laughs we had in there, especially day dreaming, gazing into the nicely built ceiling equipped with many lights for hours, and sleeping at times in that cosy hall.

See how happy people are when eating at AC

Asia Cafe. Always the destination for on-going food. AC had been my 2nd home last year (visited it every single day), and that's why most of us this year tried avoiding the lust of AC and focusing more on the attractions of other restaurants. But, we still somehow manage to pull ourselves back to that full-of-smell-and-loads-of-odour place because we just love the service there.

Wo-Men in Black

Occasionally the Law Society holds competition and talks, and they require usherers to help them out organising the event. Mind you, I still haven't got my certificates as promised by the society (false representation). And when we all put on our best suits, sweating midway looking out for the distinguished guests, the judges come running (or rather walking slowly) into DR2 complaining of jam. But anyways, it was fun peaking into these sort of stuff; how moots and debates are carried out. Some of the content of the debate too was fun (the part where everyone's fed up and starts to get really pissed and angry at their opponents).

Well, those were the great and tiring times of the past 6 months I have endured. Guess I have new friends and a whole new year to look forward to. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Cheers.

Brown Label

Hello people. I'm back here because.......no frigging idea!! And don't come asking me about the title of this post and whether it has anything to do with my indian race. It just occurred to me that, the Johnnie Walker range includes the "Black Label", "Red Label", "Blue Label", "Green Label", "Gold Label", but never a "Brown Label".

Yesyes, you'd be thinking what the hell is Dinesh doing at home thinking all day about liquor, bloody drunk alcoholic bastard!! But, no lahh, being home has been really boring especially as most my movies are all still downloading, and I've finished my earlier bunch. Adding to that, Streamyx has been really getting on my nerves lately. Very very bad service and quality of their service. I mean Maxis and DiGi provide better internet connections, but not Streamyx. Why?? Well because three-quarter of the bloody staff who work there are ******. Lazy assholes.

Hmmm. I'm half way through Boston Legal Season 4. Every single time I watch an episode, I just get amazed of the character of "Denny Crane" played by William Shatner. His style, humour, and class just reminds me of.....ME!! Hahaha. Kidding lahh. But that fictional character of "Denny Crane" seriously has to be lived up too.

PC Fair is back in town. Again, its held at the KL Convention Centre from the 1st-3rd August. The last time I paid a visit, I picked up a laptop for me (had done a post promoting my laptop earlier) and advised my cousin on picking a desktop. This time around it would be me who would be getting a desktop for home, as the one running at home now is extremely 'cacat'. Hope I get a good deal out of those HP salesmen.

Can't wait for this thursday's sales at Jaya Jusco, MidValley. Like I've mentioned, it's the only time of the year I do my shopping. Sales are worth it I tell you. Aiming to pick up a couple of long-sleeve shirts, a pair of jeans, maybe a few t-shirts, and definitely a pair of shoes.

Watched "The Dark Knight" the other day. Was bloody brilliant, but I think the movie could have had a little more shots on fighting sequences and Batman's cool gadgets. The villain this time around, "The Joker" was absolutely superb in acting; like a crazy lunatic. I think Heath Ledger deserves a standing ovation and an Oscar, considering it was his last film.

Loads of nice movies are coming out soon but I have only 2 months left in Malaysia before I take off for UK. Oh well, will miss bits and pieces of Malaysia, definitely the extremely funny debates that go on in the parliament, but will not miss the stupid internet service Streamyx provides us here. Aite then, it's my nappy time now.

Cheers.

It's all part of the plan...

Sheeeeesh. Results of my first year LL.B degree just came out and I must say I did not expect my marks. Would add however that I am happy with what I have achieved, obviously could have done better.

Visited the lecturers today at Taylors together with Zili. Were surprised to see me and Zili popping our heads in their cabins. First stop, Ms. Usha at the guardhouse. Yess, at the guardhouse around 11.30. She was on her way out when we were on our way in. She said she would be back by 1 which she never then turned up, but it's fine.

Next stop, Mun Onn. Popped in his cabin, waved excitedly, and then frowned. Cos I told him I could not get any tickets for "The Dark Knight", and he laughed at me. But he didn't get any too la, back at you, sir!! Zili as usual chatted loads of unnecessary "stuff" but it was fun. Even went through his comp, checking out our results and so on. Then, he gave us a very "motivating" speech on attachments and so on. Told him would meet him up for lunch.

Ms. Sunitha. Joined her in conversation with Ms. Thaatch. Ms. Thaatch left soon after, couldn't 'tahan' Zili's complains on why Ms. Sunitha should let us have a look at our individual questions marked for Contract Law. Topic changed to Zili's life and his attachment plans. I just smiled throughout the whole thing. Would say that Ms. Sunitha was quite satisfied with my marks. Told her on how I had very bad planning for both her paper and Mun Onn's. And told her the reason why I could have done better; I did not look through any additional stuff which was required for a 2.1, that's why most of my papers I only got a 2.2 because I concentrated more on the basic stuff.

Next stop, Law Office. Met the weird guy. Me and Zili almost laughed our ass's off. As soon as he left, we were like, "Huh??, what did he say??, HaHaHaHaAHaHaHa". Had to find out about my visa application to Reading and the documents I need. Was told, they're having a talk on this next week at Taylors. Blehhh, it's on the 24th which co-incites with the J-card day Sale. Damn.

Last stop, Mr. Lai. Found out only 5 fellas got 1st class for GPL (one of them was me, so proud!!). But he was quite sad that the record had been broken; one person failed GPL. Could see his frustration on his face, and said some stuff about understanding the difference of material facts and facts but also could see he was proud of me, particularly those who got 1st class for GPL la. He advised me on getting attached to a NGO. Left half way, as ZhunKit and Zili were still attending to him.

Moral of the story. I realised that all 3 lecturers asked me on whether I was going for any attachments anywhere, hinting my dad's place. I replied, "My dad said that you'll be working your whole life, so why work now. It's the time to relax before you go off to UK". Brilliant I say. Mun Onn agreed with my dad. Ms. Sunitha laughed (agreeing lahh with my dad) while Zili said "That is the most correct sentence I've ever heard" while Mr. Lai smiled but proposed I join a NGO.

Rushed to pick sis. Booked tickets for "The Dark Knight" tomorrow at Ou, 5 o' clock show. Slept, woke up, dropped sis for tuition. And here I am writing up a post for my blog in Starbucks, where the internet really really sucks.

Ahh yess, the bbq at Leena's on tuesday was awesome. As Zili says, "A lot of Naked Talk!!". Hahahhahaha. Won't do a post on that, malas that's why. No pics again for this post but will promise some really exciting ones for the next post. Dee called the other day. Had a nice chat with him on his current and future situation. Oh wells, will miss him though. Errghh, I'm off to dwell upon that lady sitting across me, damnit she's hot!! Can't wait for "The Dark Knight". Weeeeeeeeee.

Cheers.

"Vanity is my favourite sin of all"

Yupp, says John Milton (Al Pacino, in the movie "The Devil's Advocate"). Vanity, just when we like ourselves too much eh??

But anyways, to the actual content of this post. Let's see, what has been going around my world these past few days?? Firstly, I just finished my law exams or rather my law first year last week. Must say it was relieving as soon as I was pen-down after completing my GPL paper. Will say it has been a tough month, studying and understanding the law that has been encrypted in me for the last 6 months.

Results are coming out soon, and damnit hopefully I passed. Yes, I wish for just a pass this time as I never really had expected this much from a law exam. We law students should be exposed more to mock trials or exercises lahh, for us to actually experience how it is like sitting for an exam, and the requirements for each question. God willing, I'll pass with flying colours and would not have to take a re-sit in August.

Now, that's done with, let's move on to the next agenda on the list. Ahh yess, the departure of my good friend Dirga Putra. That Indonesian has really amused me these past few months, and yes of course has showed me ways on how to take life easy. But I still humour better then him?? Haha. Oh wells, I think he'd be the only guy in class who I understand, and me who he understands. Well, all the best in your life bro, and I want to see you in UK for our third year yea, flamingo??

Hmmmm. What's next?? Am really really free these upcoming days, so any party, weddings, birthdays, or even gang fights you'd probably see my face popping in with that wicked smile!! I'm also kind of bored lahh, so any of you guys who want to hang out or just chat, DON'T BLOODY HELL CALL ME IN THE AFTERNOONS!! That's my afternoon nappy time.

Got loads of cash saved up just for this upcoming J-card day sale at Jaya Jusco. It's this one time event a year which has the greatest deals of everything and at the lowest prices. That's the only time I do my shopping. Worth every penny so far what I've bought.

And yess!! Have watched too many movies the past few days. I think I should enter the World Guinness Book of Records for the most watched movies in a day, and striking reaaallll bad headaches while at them. No, seriously!! Hmmm, speaking of movies, I'm off to catch another one!! Till next time people, until I hear from Dee.

Cheers.

Roger that...

Yes I know it's a bit late but I had my exams going on and all so I thought I post this one up as soon as I was done with Law first year.

I quote John McEnroe, "The best finals I've ever seen in my life!!" and I truly agree with him. I remember back in the days where I'd use to cheer on the under-dog for every tennis tournament that goes on, because it's just something nice or rather exciting to experience an under-dog lift the cup. Still love that match between Sampras and Ivanasevic (hope I get his name spelled right??) and even the one between Djokovic and Tsonga at the Australian Open this year (really wanted Tsonga to lift the cup but...)

Moving down the years, then came along this one guy, Roger Federrer who just amazes you on how tennis is actually played. You would see shots taken you never see in your life. His backhand and fore-hand are just simply magnificent.

Roger would play shots no one would expect him to play, and he always tries something different and new on court. When the two (Roger and Rafa) walked down the green grass on centre-court last Sunday I knew I would be witnessing an intriguing finals.

Then Rafa was 2 sets up against Roger and was leading 3-2 in the third set. At that very moment, I thought, "Damnit Federrer, he got you this time!!". Then came the gushing wind followed by rain which caused the delay. By that time i was snoring away cuddling my bolster on my bed dreaming about criminal and contract law, for I had to sit for the two papers the next day.

Next morning, found out Nadal got the match 6-4 6-4 6-7 6-7 9-7. I was extremely happy at first, having the sight that Federrer had actually worked his way back after the rain, but then I started to feel sad for Roger. After completing my papers, rushed home to watch the highlights of the game and I must say it was an amazing match to watch, feel, and experience. One side had the world number one who came back from 2 sets to love to beat the world number two twice in tie-breakers, and the other side had Nadal who was fighting with all his heart and might to stay in the game and deal with Federrer's returns.

But it was the amazing Spaniard who topped the charts by giving pin-point returns (on the line) and he's beautiful cross-court shots helped him loads against Federrer's drop shots. Oh wells, the best man did win, but I really wanted Roger to lift his 6th Wimbledon crown this year. It was brought to my knowledge later that Federrer was actually playing with an ankle injury. Shows how much passion he has for the game to play, even with the risk of increasing the likelihood of his injury.

Roger Federrer to me would always be number one, and the best tennis player there can ever be. My heart's with you Roger. Get the US Open this year, maybe an Olympic gold medal too and come back next year to retain your crown, the Wimbledon!!

Cheers.
